The day after!

Oh my, somehow we made it for church today, even Sunday School! Following church (and it was a sweet, acoustic driven service), the kids and I just stayed home, and either played or rested. It was the perfect day for a nap, I must say, for WD and I at least!

Ella and Philip are so content with the fact that this is a week of no school. I am too, for that matter. I have some goals related to homeschooling and organizing the books and papers, but no teaching will I do!

This week Rich has two days off work, since he worked yesterday (Christmas DAY!) and today. We are planning NOTHING on those days. Ella and I are having some girl time with her friend, her sister, and her mother on Wednesday. Sometime this week, my sister in law and I are having a "winter party" for the kids...really, it will be majorly low key but we'll call it a party anyways.

I want to spend some time putting recently finished layouts in my scrapbooks. Recently means "anything done within the past six months." HA! I wish I knew someone other than myself that would like to look at them!

Speaking of scrapbooking, I need to include a little list of Studio Calico things I would LOVE to have (but won't at this point) for a giveaway they are doing.....keeping my fingers crossed....had to let go of my subscription there and it pains me because I think the upcoming kit they have is just super sweet. It has a book stamp! So here's my list, well, if you call one thing on my list as list!

1. An SC subscription beginning with the Who's Who kit! (because the Who's Who kit looks like it would've been my favorite ever!)

Well, I'm off to link this blog up to the giveaway post, finish my tea, tuck a couple of kids in their beds, hug my littlest little, and give my sweetie a kiss especially because he was the laundry man tonight..I think I saw him go up and down the stairs four times with laundry. Bless his heart!

Blessings,
AMY

ps here's a page i did a couple weeks ago....one of my favorites because of the vintage look!

So close to Christmas

and the excitement of this week is certainly seen here at our house.

the kids made pictures of santa's reindeers and they are now taped upon the piano. oh, what a site. as our their lists. i guess they are making sure everything is done just right.

we're watching Miracle on 34th street and Ella and Philip are right on the floor, eyes glued to the show.

we've eaten some cookies, generously made by my friend, Kimmy.

we've watched the snow flurries make their way to keep the dusting on the ground.

the music of my heart continues to play all of my favorite Christmas carols....O Holy Night, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Good Christian Men Rejoice...i could name almost all of them as my favorites!

i've finished wrapping the kids gifts, except two. i've wrapped my sweetie's gifts, a couple of simple things. and we're planning OUR Christmas for TOMORROW in fact! rich has to work on Christmas Day, so this way, we don't have to rush. the kids now that Santa is coming a day early. i can't recall how we've explained it happening that way at the moment, but they're cool with it!

here's our Christmas card this year. i did not send out near as many and the few i need to send out STILL are without stamps. oh dear!

many Christmas blessings to you!

I'm sitting here

Letting the Christmas spirit make it's way Into to our home. It's fairly quiet. Children being read to in bed. What a good Father my sweetie is. I'm listening to the Pandora app on my iPad...it's fixed on some nice Christmas music of course. All lights are off except for the tree. Our tree is a mismatched spectacle of trimmings....vintage bells, fringe yarn garland, paper chains handmade by the three Christmas elves, Vintage wooden ornaments, a handmade felted Santa, antique bulbs, some newer all white ornaments from a few years ago.....and a few handmade ornaments by Ella and Philip. Underneath the tree is a red and white striped round tablecloth of my grandmothers...it's small enough to make the perfect tree skirt. Looking at this tree makes me happy.

Yes, it's not perfect.

The kids have bumped into it, have moved ornaments around, have played with other toys in The bottom branches...

But still, it's this sweet, simple sight for our family to enjoy. A blessing. As well as the reason we pulled this tree out.... baby Jesus. Thank you, Lord! Merry Christmas!
